“Hunger Action Month”Sep 13

JATC Students are doing there part to help the Utah  Food Bank with “Hunger Action Month” by donating canned food items. Our goal was to collect 600 cans of food – we surpassed that 4 times over. Thanks againg to all students and staff who participated in this great event!

The most donations were placed in the U of U bin so go Utes!

The Utah Food Bank hopes to raise 1 million pounds of food statewide during ”Hunger Action Month” we hope you’ll participate in helping us end hunger in Utah.

To start the fall season off and to promote thinking about colleges we will  be having a little competition between BYU fans and U of U fans.  We also want to  launch the year off  by  helping those in need.

  • Plan to wear the colors of your favorite school during the week and encourage your students to do the same.
  • From Tuesday, September 13th-Thursday, September 15th we will havea food drive to support the Utah Food Bank.
  • Those who support the “BYU” will bring a can of food to place in the  BYU bin and  those who support the “U of U” will bring a can of food for the  “U of U” bin. Donations can be made in the front office.
  • On Friday the announcement will be made of which school got the most support in preparation for the big game on Saturday.

If the U of U wins we will all wear Red including Principal Skidmore !!! If BYU wins Blue is the color of the day.

Ambassadors Attend Conference

JATC Student Ambassadors attended the 12th Annual Leadership Conference at Utah Valley University, CHOICE : The Catalyst of Character.

The keynote speaker was Sean Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and the 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make. He addressed the critical choices that teens face today, and how they can apply the 7 Habits to unleash their individual greatness. The keynote was followed by a number of breakout sessions.

JATC Teachers Honored

Four teachers from the Jordan Applied Technology Center received recognition for their oustanding work. Read more about it on the Jordan District Web site.

Where Are They Now?

What’s happened to those students who attended the JATC? We want to let you know! We are asking for all former JATC students to answer a few questions:

  1. What program did you complete at the JATC and when?
  2. What are you doing now?
  3. How did your experience at the JATC help you get where you are today?

Keep it simple, make it fun, keep in touch by sending your response to now@jatc-wj.org . If you feel inspired, please send us a photo of yourself. With your permission, we would like to use these in our marketing as we speak to potential students and their parents.

Thank you for giving back to JATC!
